This picture was taken in Mannassas VA at my grandparents house, at the time we all lived together. My father took the picture. We were gathered in the photo because it was Easter. It was me, my nonna, my pop-pop, and my mother. At this moment we were taking pictures before we were about to start searching for Easter eggs.

One of My Childhood Homes
There was a big window in our living room. When looking out it I could see the street we lived on and a church that was located right across from us. When looking out that window you would see a| Church I lived across from |
History of My Hometown
The battle of Fredricksburg was an important event that occurred in my hometown. It was an early battle of the civil war and is known as one of the greatest confederate victories. It was led by General Robert E. Lee. Stonewall Jackson was also in Fredricksburg during this event. I remember taking a tour of the town with my nonna (grandmother) and we saw a brick house that had over 7 cannon balls shot through it that still stands. I remember being a child and always going downtown to a small local ice cream shop called Carl's. It was so good that a line of people would wrap around the building multiple times just to get some. I would always get the same kind of ice cream every time I went, a chocolate vanilla swirl cone.| My 8th birthday (dad, brother, me, and mom) |

My home town also has a very popular ice cream shop, I always got a chocolate cone with sprinkles. I wonder how small businesses impact a community in a positive way?
ReplyDeleteOne thing I learned about you is that you were the oldest of 15 cousins, wow what a big family!
ReplyDeleteYou are similar to me because I was also baptized at a young age, and I was raised Baptist.
One historical fact I learned about your hometown is that the battle of Fredricksburg occurred there. Really cool!
